One of the best ways to learn a new language is to watch videos. You can see and hear how native speakers speak the language and also observe their mannerisms.

Personally, I love to copy how they say it, and play with my non-existent accent. Hahaha.

So here are my personal favorite shows to watch while learning Spanish.

Siempre Bruja

Siempre Bruja is a Colombian Series. It is about a 19-year-old slave and a witch from 1646 named Carmen. She was about to be burned at the stake and was saved by an old wizard through time travel. She starts a new life and she tries to navigate her way thru modern-day Colombia.

Control Z

Control Z is about a hacker that begins releasing students’ secrets to the entire high school, the socially isolated but observant Sofía works to uncover the hacker’s true identity.

Narcos

Narcos is about the infamous journey of Pablo Escobar, from his humble beginnings in rural Colombia to global drug kingpin of the late ’80s. It shows the times about drug trade in Latin America, the corruption and politics surrounding it, and the way American authorities became involved at the dawn of the so-called ‘war on drugs’.

Seasons 1, 2 & 3 deal with Escobar and the Cali Cartel (that took over from Escobar), while season 4 takes a look at Miguel Felix Gallardo, Mexico’s answer to Escobar.

Elite

The story begins when three Spanish students from a working-class background are awarded scholarships to Spain’s most elite private school, a lot of things happened. Including forbidden romance, clashes between the wealthy and working-class students, and even a murder case.

La Casa de Papel

La Casa de Papel is about a man and eight people who planned the biggest heist in recorded history — to print billions of euros in the Royal Mint of Spain. The group of thieves takes hostages to help them with their negotiations with the authorities, who strategize to come up with a way to capture The Professor.
