alone-and-starving-on-my-first-day-in-hanoi

I left Singapore alone, about to embark on my adventure and surprisingly I felt nothing. I was not excited, nervous, or even skeptical about this solo travel thing. It was just blank. I was just doing the things I needed to do like going to the airport, and then wait for my boarding time.Every time I feel nothing, that’s the time I’m worried. As I was thinking why I’m not even bothered at all, my mind was updating me that I should be cautious. It was like my thoughts were jammed inside my brain then everything…

One of the good parts about traveling is that I can meet a lot of people. Whether I’m the tourist or I’m the local; It connects us to one thing, travel. When we went to Hong Kong a few months ago, we met a local named Monique who went with us touring Hong Kong’s temples. She even took a day off just to take us to their tourist attractions and we tried their favorite desserts. It was one of the highlights of our travel. I believe that the people of a certain place makes my travel more…

Exploring Carnaza Island for Php1000

at
exploring-carnaza-island-php1000

It was almost a month of unemployment and all I did was watch Netflix on weekdays and freedive on weekends. Though I enjoyed (and still enjoying) both, it was not the routine I wanted. To be honest, I do not like routine because routine is lethal. In the last week of August, I got a chance to break that routine and explored the island of Carnaza, located in the northern part of Cebu. From the island you can see the provinces of Cebu, Masbate, Leyte and Biliran. It was the perfect destination! The island was not touristy and it was…

island-mission-day-the-lessons-i-learned-while-buying-a-fruit

This third Sunday of the month we went on a mission. This is what we do in a Mission Day. We go to an island where we feed and do catechism for almost 400 kids, we have talks for the youth, and we visit the houses of the adults. Also, the island doesn’t have a priest, so we always try our best to bring one and hold a mass on this day. It is a monthly activity that happens every third Sunday of the month. We’ve been doing this Mission in Caubian Island, Lapu-Lapu since 2012.Though…

el-nido-and-puerto-princesa-in-4-days

Last labor day, me and my family visited Palawan. It was a family vacation and though I was pretty excited about the fact that we will visit the most beautiful island in the world, I was worried. The reason? It was because of the planning part. I already knew that one way or another I will make our itinerary for this vacation. As I told you before, I’m not really good in itineraries, it stresses the hell out of me and though it was (and still is) not my cup of tea, I needed to figure out the ways…

into-the-deep-blue-my-first-freediving-experience

I’m in the deep. It feels quiet and cold and I instantly get why melancholy is associated with the color blue. But down under I did not feel any sadness nor being down. It was relaxing with a beautiful scenery to the point I questioned my whole existence if I was born in the right habitat. But even though my thoughts are startled and I tried to figure out where I belong, I’m still grateful I had and still have the opportunity to explore the ocean, the unknown beautiful world of water. How I got into this? So…

day-went-majestic-mt-pinatubo

We started at Tagaytay and found our way to Laguna. We went to Laresio Lakeside resort and Spa. They have tons of water sports activities, but we were not able to try. I guess because we were tired or maybe the lake is not that inviting. It was nice to watch groups of young people having fun, most of them probably college students. My energy was not that good because I lost my voice. Maybe because I laughed so hard during the wedding we attended the day before. After Laresio, we went to Manila and stayed at the condo we…

reasons-why-you-should-try-surfing-from-girls

I remember my first time to try surfing. It was in Lanuza back in November 2015 and it was a disaster. I’m not prepared and I did not know what to expect. But despite the not so good experience about this activity, I decided to try it again. Indeed, you have to give it a second try before saying “I’ll never do it again”.I already said it before, and I will say it again. Surfing is the only activity that gave me a good feeling, even if I would end up with multiple bruises. I would gladly…

island-mission-day-strong-waves-testimonies

Growing up as a Catholic, I always hear the phrase “Spread the word of God”. Back then, it was just a phrase for me that I usually use in making my reflection for the Sunday Mass in High school. An assignment I need to pass and to conclude everything in my writing, I shamefully addressed it as a simple action. And here I am embarrassed of what I did in my teenage phase. With this in mind, I come to think how the apostles did it. It’s amazing how they lack transportation, yet they were able to give catechism…

plans-christmas-season-volunteer-join-campaign

Christmas is a festive celebration here in the Philippines. We celebrate it for months, the decorations are all over since September. We can hear Christmas carols even before Halloween. Indeed, as a Catholic Country this is a special season. But do we all know what this celebration really means? I wish you answered the question with a YES.I would like to share with you about Christian Life Movement (CLM) campaign every December. But first you might want to ask “What is Christian Life Movement?”. CLM is an ecclesial movement approved by His Holiness St. John Paul II in 1994…
