Island Mission Day: The Lessons I learned while buying a fruit

at

This third Sunday of the month we went on a mission. This is what we do in a Mission Day. We go to an island where we feed and do catechism for almost 400 kids, we have talks for the youth, and we visit the houses of the adults. Also, the island doesn’t have a priest, so we always try our best to bring one and hold a mass on this day. It is a monthly activity that happens every third Sunday of the month. We’ve been doing this Mission in Caubian Island, Lapu-Lapu since 2012.Though…

Things I noticed in El Nido that You Should Know before visiting

at

El Nido is a paradise I’ve been longing to visit. I’ve heard a lot of amazing things about the place and I know you did too. We all know that it is listed as the most beautiful island in the world. With that title, my expectations were set so high. But as like all things, it has good and bad side. Not really that bad, but I know some of the things can get better. So here are some of the things I would like to share with you during my visit in El Nido. Hope I can…

The Cause and Effect of the Things I should have done before my International Travel

at

When I think about first international travel, over preparation comes in my mind. It’s because the excitement and curiosity collides when it’s our first time to try new things. But for me who tends to forget little details, it’s totally obvious that during my first time abroad, I still get some lapses and oops during the preparation phase. These lapses and oops are actually not helpful. I was annoyed, stressed and I wasted my time because I did not manage to do a little search on my side. Laziness has its own downside I tell you. But…

Weekend Mate from Shanghai, China

at

The world is too big, yet at the same time so small. Isn’t it ironic? Or this is just what technology (or I must say the internet) is all about. To make us connect easily to other people. But sometimes, it made us more attached to our social media life than our real lives. I can’t blame you, sometimes I fall into that hole and just post good things in my social media accounts to make my life more interesting. This is the truth that I lately realized; my life is actually more interesting than how I showed…

If I were a boy, I would take her to the Mountains on our First date

at

I’m not an expert on dating games but I know a little about this department. Knowing means I did some dates before, not often though. But I would like to share some thoughts about first dates. It is a crucial step for both sides since it depends on it if you’ll have a second or a third date. And to make it more special most men over do it or under do it. They mostly think of ways what most women would like to do. So boys, to break what you normally think, girls are not all the…

The Shape of Circle

at

I like the shape of circle now.I like it for many reasons, but most importantly I like it because it reminds me of you.I like how round your eyes are. Those brown eyes lead me to you even before you introduced yourself. I like it even better because I can see your emotions from those, and I like it when they shimmer when we talk.I like your nostrils that are shaped like small circles. When you sniff and smell my hair, my face, not to mention my underarms. It tickles me and it makes me comfortable with…

Island Mission Day: Strong waves of Testimonies

at

Growing up as a Catholic, I always hear the phrase “Spread the word of God”. Back then, it was just a phrase for me that I usually use in making my reflection for the Sunday Mass in High school. An assignment I need to pass and to conclude everything in my writing, I shamefully addressed it as a simple action. And here I am embarrassed of what I did in my teenage phase. With this in mind, I come to think how the apostles did it. It’s amazing how they lack transportation, yet they were able to give catechism…

Never Dated A Polyglot? Here Are The Reasons Why You Should

at

Language is another way to know more about the culture. It is not just a way of good communication, but a great way to create a connection to other people. It is one of the easiest ways to break the boundary and widen the horizon.Well, that’s language. But let’s talk about people who are keen about it. Not just bilingual, but the multilingual. They are the polyglots. Have you met one? Are you one of them? If it’s not too personal to ask, have you dated one?Well let me tell you what I think about…

International Eucharistic Congress: My Experience as a Young Filipino

at

Back in 1937, the first ever International Eucharistic Congress in Asia was held in Manila, Philippines. After 79 years, IEC was held again in the heart of Philippines Archipelago, Cebu City.So what is this about?International Eucharistic Congress (IEC) is a gathering of catholic people to promote awareness of the real presence of Jesus in the Eucharist in the life and mission of the Catholic Church. It brings together people from all over the world to be involved with seven days activities; like talks, masses, Eucharistic adoration, processions and other devotional ceremonies. As a Catholic, I can’t really…
