5 Best Day Hikes in Cebu, Philippines
Day hikes in Cebu is one of the many activities I like to do.
It is easy and fun. It is a good exercise too if you want to break a sweat with an enjoyable recreational activity.
I enjoy day hikes because I do not need to bring a lot of things with me. I can be with nature during weekends if I want to.
Also, if you want a fun date, a day hike is perfect!
In this post, I will share with you a list of day hikes I tried in Cebu that I really enjoyed.
Mt. Naupa in City of Naga, Cebu
Mount Naupa is a 1,916ft / 584m mountain peak. It is the highest peak in the City of Naga. It is an easy climb and I’m sure anyone can do it. It is a perfect destination for beginners.
I’ve been here a couple of times because this is an easygoing hike. I like to go here especially during sunset. It’s amazing during the golden hours.
Though I have never been here recently, I still think that Mt. Naupa is the best option for those who want an effortless day hike away from the city.
Mt. Kan-irag (Sirao Peak) in Cebu City
Mt. Kain-rag also known as Sirao Peak is a 2,362 ft / 720 m mountain peak located in Cebu City. Many hikers go here for their preparation for their major climbs.
It is a longer, tougher, and definitely most challenging day hike I’ve tried.
I did a couple of hikes here and I always end up so tired afterward. Nevertheless, Mt. Kan-irag is probably one of the most diverse hikes I’ve done.
You can pass by waterfalls, empty hills, forests, tall grasses, and boulders along the way. It is never a boring sight.
TIP: If you will hike in Mt. Kan-irag, make sure to bring a lot of water!
Spartan Trail in Cebu City
I tried Spartan Trail last year for the very first time. It was not as hard as Mt. Kan-irag, but it was not also as easy as Mt. Naupa.
Spartan Trail is very diverse too. We pass by streams, forests, and even concrete roads. We had a nice view of the city as well.
I never created a post about my experience but I did made a short video during our hike.
I will definitely try it again.
RCPI Tower in Cebu City
This hike is probably one of the most memorable hikes because I was a little bit intoxicated. Hahaha.
We had some drinks while hiking and it was so fun. I never created a detailed guide about our hike because I was not paying attention during the hike. I was trying my best to focus and to be not so drunk to finish the trail. It was difficult which makes it really memorable for me.
I want this to add on the list because this is an amazing trail. I highly recommend that you should try it!
Mt. Mauyog in Balamban, Cebu
Mt.Mauyog is an easy hike with an incredible view.
I have never been back after my hike here but I still remember how it feels like sitting on the edge of this humongous brain-shaped rock.
It was exciting and I had so much fun hiking in Mt. Mauyog.
Hopefully, one day, I will be back!
Also, Mt. Manunggal is very near so check out that one too.
Personally, I never tried overnight hikes before. But I always enjoy day hikes like these, just to get away from the bustle of city life. Getting some fresh air and moving my body is always the best way to de-stress.
Hopefully, you like these suggestions!
Pin for later!
Have you ever tried hiking before? Where? Tell me about your experience! Just comment below.

You’re making me the mountains and the nature in general. I’ve been stuck at home for the past several months and some quick travel to a nearby earth-y place is definitely a relaxation I need.
I love the mountains of Balamban. I’ve passed by the area and if had the time, I would have probably spent some moment breathing fresh air there.

I really appreciate who do hiking like this. This is not my cup of tea, though, but I used to enjoy doing long walks before I injured both of my ankles from playing volleyball as a varsity student. I used to walk from university campus going back home alone or with friends. I have tried Kawasan short hikes but it was intentional because vehicles cannot enter the main falls area. I love traveling but my kind of travel is to experience the place through food or tourist spots. I have friends who do mountain hiking but they can never convince me to join because, really, not my cup of tea, but I appreciate them doing it,
