The Ultimate 1-Month Backpacking List
Going on a month-long trip with only a backpack is a bit challenging. If you like to dress up and also be practical at the same time, coming up with a 1-month backpacking list might be a headache to think of.
It took me a lot of time to list all the things I need for at least a month trip. It was for my first solo travel when I was 23 years old. I was very excited but also anxious about what to bring. I vividly remember that I search a lot of guides on the internet just to complete the packing list that best suits me.
I have to say, I was bold to travel Southeast Asia alone! It was the best thing I did and I am very happy with my experience.
So if you are planning to travel for at least 1 month or more, I want to share my packing list.
My ultimate 1-month backpacking list

Note: You can buy other toiletries in your destination so no need to bring a lot! However, here are the things I brought with me!
- Shampoo

I was using an Osprey Backpack that I bought 6 years ago. It is an Osprey Stratos 50 Men’s Backpacking Backpack. Until now, I am still using it so I highly recommend it.
I have a sack backpack for my essentials such as my passport and my laptop. It was a custom bag. It was very practical to have a small bag for easy access to the things we need during the whole travel process.
Conclusion: I am very happy with the things I brought to my trip and I even had space to bring souvenirs back home. Hope you can use this list and if you think I should bring any important things on my travel. Feel free to comment below!

I thought I was the only Filipino female bold enough to travel alone outside the Philippines. Those were the crazy years when I just wanted to get out of the usual familiar stuff and think. Yes, I had to get out of the country to think. Not that far. Just in nearby places like Malaysia, Singapore, Hongkong. All of my friends prefer to travel with friends or family.

It’s nuts that you were able to do that when you were 23 years old! I don’t know if I have the guts to pack light for any kind of trip though. Hehe.

I can’t believe you did backpacking at a very young age. What on Earth did I do at that age? Haha…I bet you had so many realizations in life when you did that. If a young woman can do backpacking on her own, there’s no reason why I can’t give it a shot. You are inspiring! – Julius Malaza

I love traveling on my own, too, even in other countries. Ahhh, I miss traveling. I am a checklist person, too, that when I travel, I have a list of everything I needed to bring. I cannot travel with a backpack only though. Hehehe. I’ve always been a luggage person, not because I have a lot to carry, but because it is the most comfortable for me. But, I definitely want to try a backpacking trip. I am not sure if I can last for a day, but there is no harm in trying. Haha.

I am not sure if my comment earlier went through, but let me do it again. Hahaha. I am a checklist person, too, and when I travel I do have a list of everything I needed to bring. I love going on adventures on my own, too. What else did I say, yeah, I am not a backpack person though when I travel but I would definitely give that a try. We’ll see if I can last a day. Hahaha. Thank you for sharing your travel checklist, Roneth. <3

This is soooo relatable! I was 22 when I booked a ticket for Malaysia then made a bold move to travel alone. My mom and dad was very shocked when I told them that I was out of the country traveling alone, and yes, for a month hopping from one country to then next. After a month of traveling in Southeast Asia, I went back in the Philippine but didn’t go home immediately. I continued my Luzon trip (North and South) then went down to Samar and Leyte. It took me another month to do all those things but somehow, I did not regret it! Ever wonder what I pack? Just few dressed and bought some more along the way…I went out of the country with a shoulder back and went home with a backpack! Haha!
