3 Things I Am Excited To Do in My Hometown Now that I am Back
After how many months of waiting, I’m finally back in my hometown.
As of this writing, I am in a quarantine facility doing a mandatory 14-day quarantine before I can go home to my parents.
I’m with my sister, and we both had an exhausting journey just to get home. Nevertheless, we are both grateful that we are in our hometown, and in a couple of days, we will be with our family again.
I’ve been thinking for the past days what I want to do while I am here. I do not know when will I be back in Cebu and with that fact, I want to make my stay memorable and most especially with a purpose.
So here are some of the things, I want to do while in my hometown.
Spend more time with family
This pandemic really made me realize how important it is to be with your family in these uncertain times.
We were in our apartment in Cebu City since March. Hiding and doing our best to avoid being infected by Covid-19. During those days, we badly wanted to be with our parents. They were worried about us especially that Cebu was badly affected by the pandemic.
I will definitely spend more time with my family and treat every day as a gift and another chance to be with them.
Reconnect with my friends
I know for a fact that my friends and I grew up differently.
To be honest, I am a bit nervous sometimes on how I will approach some of my friends back home. Sometimes, I come very straight forward and too open for their conservative environment. I’ll try to be more careful and be more sensitive about their feelings to know them better.
We have a lot of history together, from clueless kids to awkward puberty stage. I believe that we have a great relationship to create together.
To simply put it, I want to reconnect with them and continue to build our relationship now that I am home.
Explore my home province more
One of the things I’m very excited about is to explore my backyard more.
I know for a fact that my province has a lot to offer, and I want to discover the best of Surigao del Sur.
I’m looking forward to revisiting familiar locations and try new adventures. Hopefully, I can write more about it here on my blog and maybe share more travel blogs with you as well on my YouTube channel.
I hope you are in a place where you are close to your family and friends as well.

Yehey! Happy that you got back home 🙂 I can relate to your experience although mine was relatively smoother because our company really assisted us in getting home safely.
Anyway, I haven’t been to Surigao del Sur so I’ll probably ask you when I have plans in the future!

I love your home province. It’s true that during this time, being with our good family is very important. I have some friends who wanted to go back to their home provinces too and reconnect with their love ones, but the current situation is still very dangerous. Stay safe always and looking forward to more stories from you exploring your home province.

wow maayo ka kay naka uli na. I have been wanting to go home too. I agree, this pandemic made most of us realize how important our time spent with our loved ones especially our parents. During this pandemic, I have been worried to my parents because they are mostly sickly already that’s why I long to be with them all the more. I really hope I can go home again, soon.

Glad that you’re back at home, Roneth!
I definitely miss the life back in Carcar before the quarantine when it was easier to go home and back here in the city when I need to. I look forward going back home again without the pressure of all the border control in this city.
